When every tourist leaves Fjord Norway, the nature becomes even more beautiful. The leaves change colours, and the forest explodes in yellow, brown, red, green – and, as the snow starts falling on the mountains, white. Yes, the fall can sometimes be wet and cold on the west coast of Norway. But if you have the ability to appreciate nature in all its forms, fall will be a good time to visit the region. Other suggestions on activities in the off-tourist season of Fjord Norway:

Join a surf course or just spend time wave-watching in the amazing surf spot of Hoddevika, Stadt. Go wreck diving in Gulen Diving Resort, or freedive/underwater hunting in countless spots along the coast. Go grouse hunting in the Luster mountains. Go powder skiing in the summer skilift of Folgefonna glacier. Or simply take the Norway in a Nutshell trip at a time when it is not crowded – exploring the fjords of Norway as the rivers run high and the nature is at its most spectacular!
